D-U-N-S® Number
A D-U-N-S® Number is a global identification number assigned by D&B. All businesses, including branches and workplaces in the D&B database, have a D-U-N-S® Number. You could call it a global corporate identity number. It makes it easy, for example, to maintain a database with up to date information via automated database updates.
All workplaces and branches are linked via a D-U-N-S® Number to a head office’s
D-U-N-S® Number so that a business’s organisation structure can be followed. Businesses in a group are also linked via D-U-N-S® Numbers to create a group tree. This takes place at global level and is unique to D&B. No other information company offers this service.
